ECSTPA Phase 2
On March 13, 2019, the Val Grande National Park, with the constitution and the first meeting of the restricted Working Group between the Park Authority and tourist enterprises (accommodation facilities and Park guides), formally started the realization of the second phase of the European Charter of Sustainable Tourism, renewed in its first phase in 2018. The ECSTPA Forum has already approved this process on the occasion of the renewal of the "Strategy and Action Plan" for the period 2018-2022, in particular through the commitment of the Park Authority n. 17 "Towards Phase 2 of the Charter".
Object of the Phase II of the ECSTPA, a prerogative of the Protected Areas already recognized with the implementation of Phase I, is to establish, with the economic operators of tourism, more profitable and structured collaboration relationships, certifying entrepreneurs and economic companies residing in their own territory to face clear, signed and monitored commitments. On the occasion of the Monitoring and Enlargement Forum of the ECSTPA, held in Vogogna on 5 June 2019, the Local Membership System drawn up for the Val Grande National Park area was approved by the Charter shareholders. The participated process allowed to analyse and customize the National Membership Admission System proposed by Federparchi, for which the validation of the changes was asked, and then approved on 19 July 2019.
The Authority, in order to contain the managing costs of the second phase and in accordance with the national method approved by Federparchi, provides its own ECSTPA Manager - Cristina Movalli - for the training course and to subsequently carry out the activity of evaluator of the tourism companies that have obtained the ECSTPA in the Italian Protected Areas that have completed the second phase.
From 8 to 12 July 2019, exits were made to potential candidates to assist them in completing the Procedural Guideline and the Programme.
In the week from 25 to 28 November 2019 the facilities and guides of the park participating in PHASE II will receive an inspection visit by verifiers accredited by Federparchi. After that, the eligible economic operators will receive the certification.
To adhere to PHASE II of the ECSTPA it is necessary that the economic operator, already accredited for PHASE I, is located in one of the municipalities of the Park and complies with the documents here attached.
