Actions' monitoring and conclusions
To improve the involvement of the territorial actors in the candidacy process (2012), to the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism, a Permanent Forum was set up to monitor the actions of the Charter itself and the enhancement of sustainable tourism in the territory of the Park.
The aims of the Forum were as follows:
- to monitor the actions of the ECSTPA, highlighting any discrepancies between the ECSTPA Action Plan approved by the Forum and what is actually being carried out on the territory;
- to identify possible actions at risk and subjects in difficulty;
- to identify the results achieved and envisage possible additions to the Plan (new actions and / or new subjects);
- to evaluate the initiatives promoted thanks to the actions undertaken in preparation for the renewal of the first phase of the ECSTPA and the launch of the second phase of greater collaboration with the operators.
Every year, therefore, the plenary meeting of the Forum was regularly convened, preceded by a round of local work tables organized by geographical areas (Val Vigezzo, Val d'Ossola and Cannobino-Verbano) during which the signatories of the Charter were invited to complete and illustrate a specific personal monitoring form and to approve any new subjects and / or actions to be integrated into the Plan.
At the end of the work, the monitoring form was digitized by the Charter Manager in order to keep track of the annual progress of the action. At the end of this report, the collection of all these monitoring forms is attached (summary sheet). The last monitoring opportunity (2017) coincided with the start of the renewal process of the Charter and with a summary reflection on the previous 5 years.
